That $700 injector puller that saved my butt on a Friday night

Picked up a OTC injector puller kit for $700 after fighting with a 6.0 Ford for three hours with a slide hammer. Got the job done in under twenty minutes and had the truck out the door before dinner. Had a buddy try to borrow it for his Duramax and it snapped the adapter... guess that's a different beast. Anyone else find one tool that just pays for itself over and over?

Cheap tools break, expensive ones just pay you back in different ways.

Seven hundred bucks for an injector puller? Man, I thought my $300 Snap-On ratchet was overkill. That thing better make you breakfast too.

I was definitely the guy who thought spending that much on a specialty tool was crazy. I had a 2004 6.0 that I pulled injectors out of with a homemade setup and a lot of swearing, and it worked fine for me at the time. Then I helped a buddy with his 2015 and realized real quick that my cheap method was just going to wreck stuff. Now I see the point, especially after you mentioned that Duramax adapter snapping, because these modern trucks really do need the right stuff to not turn a two hour job into a whole weekend of broken parts and waiting on Amazon.
