That $400 fuel injector socket set I bought last month was a total waste

I dropped $400 on a fancy injector socket set thinking it'd make my life easier on the new Duramax trucks. First job I used it on, the thin wall cracked barely 5 minutes in, just torquing a nut. My old $30 husky set I've had for years handled the same injector no problem. Has anyone else been burned by these over-engineered tool sets, or did I just get a dud?

$400 for a socket that cracks faster than my patience at a DMV line sounds about right. Guess the Instagram hype doesn't pay for your injector job, huh?

Figure out what brand that fancy set was, cause some of those high end tool truck brands have been slipping lately with their thin wall stuff. I’ve seen a few Snap-on socket sets do the same thing on injectors (heat treat issues maybe?), while their older stuff is still bulletproof. Was it a name brand like Matco or Mac, or one of those boutique tool companies that popped up on Instagram?
