Switched to a breakout box for injector testing and saved 4 hours
I used to test injectors by pulling them one at a time and running the engine. Spent a whole Saturday on a 6.7 Powerstroke in Austin last month. Now I use a simple breakout box from OTC, takes about 30 minutes total. Anyone else find a test method that cut their diagnostic time in half?

Add a good scanner that can do bidirectional controls with the breakout box. Lets you fire each injector individually while watching live data, cuts the guessing game way down.

That basic OBD2 scanner with bidirectional control saved my bacon on a 2015 F150 last month... @gavinlopez is spot on about firing injectors individually. I spent two hours guessing before I hooked mine up, then found the bad injector in under ten minutes. The breakout box makes it simple to pin down dead cylinders without pulling everything apart first.
