Switched from paper towels to reusable rags for shop cleanup and it actually saves me money

I used to go through a big roll of paper towels every two days wiping down tools and work surfaces in my diesel shop. About 4 months ago I bought a pack of 50 blue microfiber rags from the auto parts store for $18. Now I just toss them in a laundry bag and wash them once a week. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference in their cleanup routine?

Weren't you worried about the microfiber trapping all the heavy grease and metal shavings from diesel work and ruining your washing machine? I've been on the fence about switching but that's what keeps stopping me.

Nah, I just hose the heavy stuff off before it ever hits the washer honestly. A quick rinse and scrape in a bucket OUTSIDE takes care of the worst of it, and then the microfiber just grabs the leftover fine dust that doesn't really hurt anything.
