Not convinced CAT filters are worth the premium anymore
I swung by a fleet maintenance yard in Tulsa last month and saw three 15-liter engines running nothing but Wix filters for over 200k miles. The oil analysis came back cleaner than any CAT filter I've ever pulled. Has anyone else switched brands and seen better results?

Up near Omaha I ran Wix on a C15 for about 180k miles and the oil samples actually looked better than when I ran CAT filters on the same engine with the same oil. @blakem37 I get your point about bypass valves but honestly I think a lot of that hype is just CAT's markup for the name.

Buddy of mine ran Wix on his 3406E for over 200k and never had a lick of trouble. He said the oil came back cleaner on his blackstone reports too, made me think twice about spending for CAT filters.

Cleaner than any CAT filter I've ever pulled" - you sure that wasn't just better oil or shorter drain intervals? Wix is solid but they don't have the same bypass valve specs as CAT on those high-flow engines.
