Lol, every school bus in my district was getting crap mileage until we started using this fuel additive mix from the farm supply store.

Used to roll my eyes at fuel additives, thought it was all snake oil for gullible people. Then my buddy with an old diesel truck swore by this injector cleaner from the auto parts store. I tried it as a last resort before some expensive repairs. Honestly, the engine smoothed right out and my mileage ticked up a solid two miles per gallon. Changed my whole view on that stuff actually works.

Right there with you @jasont38, a lot of that stuff is preventative. In an older engine, carbon just gums everything up over time. A good cleaner can slowly clear that out if the damage isn't too far gone. It's not a magic fix for a blown motor, but for basic maintenance, it definitely has a place.
