I thought those cheap Bluetooth bore scopes were just junk
Grabbed one for 50 bucks to check a cylinder on a 6.7 Powerstroke and the picture was shockingly clear. Now I use it all the time for quick checks. What's the most useful cheap tool you've been surprised by?

Tell me about it. I once bought a really expensive blender that broke after two weeks. Sometimes the price tag is just a lie.

Price is just one clue. You have to check reviews and what it's made of. Sometimes cheap stuff is built to last.
