Honestly the difference between a 2-stage and single-stage air dryer on a truck after 6 months is night and day

Depends on the climate and how often you're actually using the dryer. Most guys I know get by fine with single-stage for local runs.

Two-stage is worth it in my book, even for local runs. I live in a humid area and single-stage just can't handle the moisture when I've got a full basket of wet clothes. It takes twice as long to dry anything and they come out feeling stiff. Plus the extra lint buildup is annoying to deal with. A buddy of mine has one and he's always complaining about the same issues. For the price difference, two-stage gives you way better performance and less headache.

Yeah, that bit about "single-stage just can't handle the moisture" really hits home... I had a neighbor who swore by her single-stage and she'd always have to run the dryer twice on rainy days, then complain the whole time about how crunchy her towels felt. We were over at her place once and I was gonna mention it to @bettyfox right when she walked in, but then her dog started chasing a squirrel and it was chaos. Anyway, she finally got a two-stage a few months later after her old dryer literally rusted from the inside out... that was a nasty surprise.
