Hit 350,000 miles on my old Cummins today and it FELT different than I expected

I was rolling through Flagstaff this morning hauling a load of lumber when the odometer ticked over to 350k. That number hit me HARD because I bought this truck at 180k thinking I'd only get a year or two out of it. Six years later and it's still pulling strong with just basic maintenance and a single injector swap. Anyone else have a rig that shocked them with how long it lasted?

That "don't die unless you beat on them" part is dead on. My buddy had a 97 F-350 with the 7.3 that he bought for a side job roofing. He beat the hell out of it hauling tile and shingles five days a week for almost a decade. It finally gave up at 430k when the rear main seal let go so bad it would puke a quart of oil every 60 miles. He parked it in his field and it's still sitting there like a monument. What did your neighbor end up doing with his 425k truck after it rusted out?

the_parker, I gotta call you out on that 2000 F250 thing. Those early 2000s Super Duties actually started using some galvanized body panels and better rust protection, so while the frame can still get crusty, saying they just die from rust ain't totally fair. A lot of them are still rolling in the salt belt if they get undercoated.

350k is cool and all but let's be real, that's just a number. My neighbor's 2000 F250 made it to 425k before the frame rusted out underneath it. Trucks from that era just don't die unless you beat on them or live in the rust belt.
