Had a weird injector cup failure on a 7.3 Powerstroke last Thursday
It was on a 2001 F-250 that came in running rough and pushing coolant out. Found the number 3 cup had a hairline crack right at the base, which is a spot I don't see fail often. Ended up pulling the head to do it right and avoid any sealant getting into the oil galleries. Anyone else run into a crack in that exact spot, or was this just a one-off fluke?

Was it an original cup or a replacement part that cracked?

Wait, you're telling me that crack was right at the base of the cup? That is WILD, I've never seen that before in all my years messing with these engines.
