Dropped $600 on a Snap-on scan tool last year and it already feels outdated
Bought the Solus Edge Pro back in March thinking I was future proofing my setup. Now I see the new ones have all the DPF regen controls built in and mine needs a separate module. Anybody else feel like these scan tools turn obsolete too fast for the price?

Respectfully, that's just how electronics work now.

So why even buy new if it's all the same treadmill every few years?

...and honestly I'm not sure it matters all that much. I mean yeah it stings dropping that kind of cash on something that gets old quick, but that's just how tools work now. @the_thomas is right about electronics in general. My old boss still uses a scanner from like 2015 and he gets by fine even if he's missing some of the newer features. Maybe we're overthinking this... like unless you're doing DPF regens every single day does it really change your bottom line that much?
