Blew $600 on a reman injector set that barely lasted 6 months
I bought a set of reman injectors off eBay back in January for my 6.0 Ford. Saved about half compared to new ones from Ford. By July three of them started sticking and I had to pull everything apart again. The labor alone cost me more than if I just bought new injectors the first time. Has anyone else had bad luck with reman parts from certain sellers?

Honestly that's the thing about reman parts in general, not just injectors. People see the price tag and think they're getting a deal but you're really just rolling the dice on how long someone else's junk is gonna hold up. It's like buying a used mattress from a stranger - sure it's cheaper but you have no idea what kind of abuse it went through. The rebuilders slap on some new seals and call it good but they don't test the core components that actually wear out. I've seen it with alternators, starters, even water pumps. By the time the labor and downtime adds up you could have paid for the good stuff twice over.

I get what you're saying about the mattress analogy but I think it depends a LOT on who does the rebuilding. I've had great luck with reman injectors from a specific diesel shop in Texas that actually flow tests them and replaces the internal spool valves. The eBay junk is a different story because those places just clean them up and call it a day. I paid $400 for a set of remans from a reputable company and they've been going strong for 2 years now. The problem isn't reman parts in general, it's buying from random sellers who cut corners to hit that low price point.

The Texas shop @william_henderson mentioned is one of the few places that actually do it right by replacing the spool valves, most rebuilders skip that step entirely. I've heard good things about those guys too, but the problem is most people don't know which shops are the trustworthy ones until after they've been burned. That $400 deal you got is a steal if they're actually flow testing them, but the average guy buying off eBay is getting a completely different product.
