Hot take: thought that $300 duct cleaning quote was a scam, then I saw the inside of my vents
We bought a 1958 ranch in Harvey Park and the guy showed me a camera shot of 60 years of dust caked on the inside of the main trunk, so has anyone else in Denver dealt with this and did it actually help your air quality or was it just a one time thing?
60 years of dust in a 1958 house is basically a science project at this point. We looked at a place in Harvey Park too and the vents had so much junk in them I sneezed just standing in the hallway. If that camera shot was real and not just some scare tactic to get you to swipe your card, yeah I'd say it's worth doing once. The thing is it's not a fix that lasts forever, dust comes back, filters help, pets make it worse. Did they show you before and after pics or just the gross before shot? That's usually how you can tell if it's a real job or just a sales pitch.
