The alternate ending to Blade Runner on the 4K disc is the real one, not the Final Cut

I compared both back to back last weekend and the Final Cut's voiceover removal actually makes Deckard's choices confusing. The alternate cut's ending scene with the origami and the elevator has this quiet tension that the theatrical version ruins, but the 4K one at least lets the moment breathe. Does anyone else think Ridley compromised the narrative just to please the studio's purist crowd?
