That one guy at the DVD rental store who predicted the deleted scenes trend
Back in 2010 at a Blockbuster in Cleveland, the clerk and I got to talking about the alternate ending on the Watchmen disc, and he said someday studios would sell those scenes as bonus packs on their own. He was right, now I see people paying $15 for a 4 minute scene on streaming that never made the cut. Anyone else have a random stranger call a fandom shift way before it happened?

Man, that clerk was basically a time traveler! I remember back in like 2008, some guy at a comic shop told me digital comics would kill physical single issues within a decade. I laughed at him, said nothing beats the smell of fresh ink. Now I read everything on a tablet and my long boxes are just furniture. It's wild how those clueless-looking retail dudes see the writing on the wall way before the big companies do. Probably because they actually talk to real fans all day instead of sitting in a boardroom.
