Whoa, wait, which deleted scene are you talking about? The one where he talks to young Talia in the prison? I totally forgot about that. But you are actually onto something huge here, because that scene completely changes how I hear his voice. It's not just the intonation, it's the pacing. In the theatrical cut he sounds like he's trying to be this unstoppable force, always in control. But in that prison scene, his voice cracks and he sounds more like a guy who's been beaten down by the world, not a monster. That little bit of vulnerability makes the whole "mask effect" feel less like a gimmick and more like a real person trying to be heard through a broken machine. So when you rewatch the main movie after that, his normal voice actually carries more of that hidden sadness instead of just sounding like a joke.
