People keep calling that Firefly deleted scene canon and it bugs me

Ngl, I see this pop up every few months on streaming extras and social clips, where folks act like the alternate Serenity cockpit scene with Wash is officially canon. That version was never part of the final cut, it was a DVD extra from 2005 that Joss himself said was just a fun what-if. I watched it again last week on Hulu's bonus features and the audio quality is clearly unfinished, no foley, flat mix. It matters because new fans grab those clips and start building theories off something the creators never approved for the story. Has anyone else noticed this getting worse since streaming started bundling deleted scenes right next to the episodes?
