Just found out the original Alien had a deleted chestburster scene with a different victim

I was scrolling through YouTube last night and stumbled on a 40th anniversary breakdown of Alien. Turns out Ridley Scott shot an alternate version where the chestburster scene happened to a different crew member, not Kane. The footage was cut because it gave away too much of the creature's design early. I always thought that scene was perfect as is, but seeing the rough cut made me realize how much editing saved that movie. Makes me wonder how many other classic horror films have alternate takes that wouldve ruined the magic. Anyone else dug up a deleted scene that changed your whole view of a movie?
