Deleted scene version vs theater cut, which one do you keep?
I finally got around to watching the alternate ending for that indie horror flick 'The Hollow Hour' on the streaming extras last weekend. The theater version had this quiet, unsettling fade to black, but the deleted scene goes full chaos with a car crash and a radio broadcast that spells everything out. I keep going back and forth on which one I'd want if I owned the physical copy. The director's commentary says the crash was cut for pacing, but honestly the subtle version stuck with me way longer. Has anyone else had a deleted scene that completely changes how you see the main plot? Do you usually side with the original cut or the what-if version?

The quiet fade to black is the right call, honestly. I had a similar thing with a movie where the deleted scene explained too much and it killed the mystery, the subtle version is what made me think about it for days after.
