TIL my neighbor's deleted rant about 'lawn etiquette' was actually about me

I found a screenshot of a Nextdoor post from 3 months ago where someone ranted about a person leaving grass clippings on the sidewalk. My neighbor deleted it right after I posted a video of my mower at that exact time and spot. Why do people delete stuff instead of just talking to you about it?

Delete button culture is spot on. Had a neighbor do the same thing to me once.

Blame the delete button culture honestly. People would rather hit delete than have an awkward 30 second chat because that means they have to own their feelings and face you. Nextdoor is full of this passive aggressive stuff where folks vent into the void but fold the second there's proof they were talking about someone specific. It's like they think deleting erases the confrontation instead of just making them look weak.
