Found out my old deleted fanfic had thousands of reads before I wiped it in 2016
I was cleaning out an old external drive last week and found a folder with my fanfic drafts from 2014. Out of curiosity I searched the story title on the Wayback Machine and found screenshots of the stats page. It had 4,800 reads and 112 comments before I deleted it in a fit of embarrassment after someone in my college class found my account. All that time I thought maybe 20 people saw it. Now I wish I had at least saved the comments. Anyone else ever delete something and later find out it was way more popular than you thought?

My cousin deleted her whole Tumblr blog in 2013 after her mom found it, and she still brings it up at every family dinner like it was a crime scene. Bet those 112 comments had some real gems buried in them though.
