Vent: my $30 splatter screen was a waste, just use a bigger pot
Everyone on here keeps saying buy a splatter screen, but mine just sat there coated in grease while the real fix was a taller pot that cost nothing extra, so has anyone actually had a screen work for them or are we all just buying stuff we do not need?
Mine did the exact same thing. Bought a mesh one off Amazon for 25 bucks and after two rounds of bacon it was a greasy mess I had to scrub forever. The screen also blocked so much steam that everything just sat there steaming instead of crisping up. Switched to my deep dutch oven and boom, no mess on the stove, food actually browns right, and I didn't spend a dime. The screen is now somewhere in the back of a cabinet holding down a broken lid. Save your money people.
