My oil thermometer lied for 3 weeks and I blamed the fryer
Kept burning chicken to a crisp on the outside while the middle was raw, swapped oil, checked the basket, even bought a new fryer in Columbus before I realized my cheap probe thermometer was reading 40 degrees off. How long did it take you guys to figure out a tool was the problem instead of your cooking?
Took me two months of ruining steaks before I figured out my meat thermometer was shot, I even blamed the grill and bought new burners. Now I check the probe in ice water every few weeks and it has saved me a ton of money.
