Hot take: My neighbor tried to deep fry a whole turkey in a 2 gallon pot
Last Thanksgiving, my neighbor Dave thought he could fry a 14 pound turkey in a tiny pot meant for fries. He filled it with oil, dropped the bird in, and it overflowed like a volcano. The grease caught fire on his concrete patio, and he just stood there with tongs yelling "It's fine!" while I grabbed my extinguisher. We ended up ordering pizza and his patio still has a black stain two months later. Has anyone else had a neighbor try something this dumb with a fryer?

Read online that air fryers work just as good without the fire risk.

Totally get what you're saying. I switched to an air fryer a few months back and honestly it feels way safer than my old deep fryer. No hot oil splattering everywhere or that constant worry about the stovetop being left on. Plus it's way easier to clean up, just wipe down the basket. Has it made a big difference in your cooking too?
