Update: I caught a fake invoice scam by verifying the email details
A vendor invoice arrived asking for payment to a new account, but the email address had extra numbers after the company name. I called the vendor using the number from their official site, not the email, and they confirmed it was fake. Now I always double-check sender addresses and call to confirm any payment changes. How do you handle unexpected payment requests?

Yeah, the "scary how common" part is so true. I started making my whole team slow down and read the sender's full name out loud before any payment. Catching one weird letter or extra number has stopped a few close calls. That extra five-second check really does the trick.

Smart move checking the details like that... It's scary how common this is now.
