Switched from LastPass to Bitwarden after a close call - the difference was huge
I had my LastPass vault get flagged for a weird login attempt from Russia about 3 months back. Nothing got in but it scared me enough to switch. I moved everything over to Bitwarden and honestly I don't miss LastPass at all. The interface is simpler, it costs less, and I like that it's open source so more eyes are on the code. Has anyone else made the jump and noticed better security features?

Open source code really makes a difference for peace of mind.

100% agree with you @alexc93. I switched my whole home server setup over to an open source media platform about two years ago after I got tired of one app randomly deleting my playlists. Now I actually look at the changelogs whenever there's an update and it feels good knowing exactly what got fixed or added. No more guessing if something shady is happening in the background. It takes a little bit of learning at the start but once you get the hang of it, you never want to go back to closed stuff.

Had a buddy who got totally burned by some sketchy proprietary software once. He paid a bunch for it and then the company just dropped support with zero warning. @alexc93 you're onto something big. He finally switched to an open source alternative and it felt like a weight lifted off his shoulders. Now he can actually see every update and bug fix that comes through, no hidden surprises. That level of transparency just changes the whole relationship with your tools.
