I laughed at 2FA, now I won't log in without it
I always figured two-factor authentication was just extra hassle. Then my email got breached from a weak password on some forum. The person tried to get into my bank, but the 2FA code stopped them DEAD. That was a WAKE-UP call about how important that second step is. Now I enable it on everything, even my social media accounts. It adds maybe ten seconds, but the protection is HUGE. If you're not using 2FA, you're basically inviting trouble.

That 'stopped them DEAD' part is so true. My PayPal got hit after a data leak. Someone tried to buy stuff, but the 2FA code on my phone blocked it. I switched to using Google Authenticator after that. It feels weird to rely on a little code, but it works. Now I tell all my friends to turn it on, even if they roll their eyes.

Honestly that "lifesaver" talk feels overblown. My phone died once when I really needed a 2FA code for my email and I was locked out for hours. It just adds another single point of failure. Sometimes the old way with a strong, unique password feels safer because you actually control it.

Did your friend ever have a close call? @blairtaylor, my mate thought 2FA was a hassle until his bank flagged a weird login. Those codes are lifesavers, man.
