I finally bought a hardware wallet for my crypto and it's a no-brainer
Spent about $80 on a Ledger Nano S Plus after seeing a friend get drained from a fake wallet connect site. It keeps your keys offline so those phishing links can't touch your actual coins. Anyone have a good routine for checking the address on the device screen every single time?

Same idea as checking your change before leaving a store.

My buddy once found an extra twenty in his change at a gas station.

My old boss at the hardware store taught me to always count my change before walking away from the register. That twenty could be a mistake that gets a cashier in trouble later that night when their drawer comes up short. @bennett.finley is right that checking your change works both ways, you never know if they gave you too much or too little. One time a cashier accidentally shorted me a five and I would have been out the money if I hadn't checked right there. It is just good practice to look at what they hand you, especially at busy gas stations where people rush. Most folks mean well, but mistakes happen when transactions pile up fast.
