Bought a $40 password manager vault, then realized my backup was the sticky note on my monitor
Last Tuesday I finally got sick of forgetting logins so I paid $40 for a fancy password vault app with all the bells and whistles. Spent 2 hours moving every account over, feeling real professional about myself. Then my truck's Wi-Fi hotspot died and I tried to log in on my phone, only to find the master password was something I wrote on a sticky note that had fallen behind my desk in El Paso. The vault locked me out after 3 tries and support said I needed the recovery key, which I never printed out. $40 gone plus I had to reset like 14 accounts through email chains that took all night. Has anyone else overcomplicated basic password management to the point of stupidity, or am I the only one who paid for digital lockout insurance?
