My dad's old framing hammer vs my fancy new one... night and day difference.
Last summer I finally swapped out my dad's old 20 oz Estwing for one of those new lightweight titanium jobs. Figured I'd be swinging faster all day. First week on a house in Nashville I had to quit early cause my arm was so sore from the vibration. The old steel hammer just soaked it up. Went back to the Estwing and finished the job no problem. Anyone else find those new hammers are more hype than help?

Three days with a titanium hammer and my elbow felt like it was full of broken glass. Sold it on Craigslist for half what I paid. The old Estwing is ugly and heavy but it doesn't make my arm go numb after two hundred nails.
