Shoutout to the high school kid who filmed my awful dance video in 2009
Found a clip on an old hard drive from a house party in Portland. I was doing a weird robot dance to some pop song, thought I looked smooth. My buddy Tim still brings it up every time we grab a beer at the Horse Brass Pub. Anyone else have an old video that still haunts them from a specific person's camera?

That video from 2009 is probably the most honest record of who you actually were at that age. Everyone else's memories are filtered through nostalgia but the cringe never lies.

@reesea49 that video from 2009 is probably the most honest thing you've said all week. The real unfiltered version of yourself back then is hiding in plain sight, not in the polished highlight reels. Its weird how we spend years trying to forget the awkward phases but those moments are actually the only pure records of who we were before we learned to perform for others. The cringe is just the price of not being fake. Most people edit their past but the cringe preserves the truth better than any nostalgic memory.
