Found my old MySpace layout from 2007 and I need a minute

Was cleaning out a hard drive last Saturday and stumbled on a saved folder of my old MySpace page, complete with the glittery stars background and a Tom pic I edited to have lasers coming out of his eyes. The cringe hit me so hard I sat there for 5 minutes just staring at it, thinking about how I spent 12 bucks on a custom cursor pack back then. Has anyone else gone through a digital time capsule like this and felt secondhand shame for their teenage self?

Damn, that's basically a time machine with extra steps. It's wild how we all just accepted that stuff back then like it was normal, but now we look back and realize we were basically decorating our digital bedrooms with 2007 Hot Topic fire hazards. Makes me wonder what we're doing now that's gonna hit us just as hard in another 15 years, probably all these AI filtered selfies and crypto bro posts.

Wait, but do you actually think we've gotten better at spotting that stuff in real time, or are we just better at making fun of it after the fact? Like, I remember being so sure that those early personality quizzes were harmless, and now it's obvious they were just data mining with a smiley face on top. Is there anything right now that feels completely innocent to you, but you have a nagging feeling we're gonna look back on and cringe at?
