Found a tweet I posted in 2011 comparing my life to a Final Fantasy cutscene

I was 16 and actually thought writing "my emotions are like a chocobo crossing a desert" was deep, you know, peak philosophy. Anybody else dig up old posts that make you want to erase your whole digital footprint?

HOLD UP wait, you actually thought a chocobo crossing a desert was a metaphor for your emotions? That is some golden era cringe right there. I found one from 2009 where I said I felt like "a wounded Gazelle waiting for a lion to finish the job." I was 14 and had just watched The Lion King, clearly. The worst part is I posted it on Facebook with a bunch of dramatic emo song lyrics underneath it. Makes me want to log into that account and just nuke the whole thing from orbit.

The whole "nuke it from orbit" thing is a little dramatic, don’t you think? I mean, yeah, it’s cringey, but it’s not like you committed a war crime in 2009. We all posted dumb stuff when we were kids, that’s just how the internet worked back then. Unless you’re running for president, nobody’s digging through your old Facebook statuses to hold them against you. Just leave it up as a time capsule, it’s not that serious.
