Unpopular opinion: I don't thank my comment section, and my channel is better for it
Three years ago in Austin, I stopped replying to every single comment and even stopped saying 'thanks for watching' at the end of videos. My engagement metrics actually went up 22% because viewers started arguing with each other in the threads instead of waiting for me to respond. The big creator push to 'build community' feels like a guilt trip, not a strategy, and it burned me out last month when I tried it again for a week. Has anyone else seen their channel grow after going quiet on comments?
