That time I posted a half finished video draft by accident and got praised for it

Last Wednesday I was editing a new tutorial for my crafting channel and accidentally hit publish on a rough cut. It had no intro, my cat meowing in the background, and I said "um" like 40 times. I panicked and took it down after 10 minutes but by then 200 people had already watched it. The comments were all saying how they liked the "authentic" version and asked where the full one was. I ended up leaving the draft up and just adding a pinned comment explaining it was unplanned. Has anyone else had a mistake post go weirdly viral like that?

The comments were all saying how they liked the 'authentic' version" - thats the part that gets me. People say they want polished stuff but then a half finished video with a cat yowling gets more love than your best work. Do you think those commenters actually watched the whole rough cut or did they just see a flawed thing and feel the need to be nice about it? I wonder if you had left it up for a full day if the praise wouldve turned into complaints about the quality.

My buddy @kaid59 and I were just talking about this same thing at a dinner party last week. Someone brought a half-assed store bought pie and everyone raved about it, but when my wife spent all day on a homemade one last month, half the people just picked at it and didn't say a word. Its like people crave the low effort stuff because they can relate to the imperfection without feeling judged themselves. Do you think thats just a comfort zone thing, or are people scared to compliment something that actually took skill?
