Spent $200 on a fancy ring light that I never even unpacked because my window lighting was free the whole time

I bought it six months ago after watching some YouTuber rave about it, but I just realized last week it's still sitting in the box under my desk, has anyone else impulse bought gear that just collects dust?

Used to be the type that called it "investing in yourself" whenever I bought something like that. Thought people just lacked discipline. Then I spent a hundred bucks on a standing desk converter that is now a very expensive coat rack. Kinda hits different when you see your own money sitting there wrapped in bubble wrap. That's a really smart way to put it, buying stuff for the person we dream about being instead of who we actually are.

You ever notice how we all buy stuff for the person we think we're gonna be, not the one we actually are? It's like gym memberships in January.
