My live stream got hijacked by a very determined squirrel

I was filming a quiet tutorial in my backyard studio last Thursday when a squirrel decided the top of my microphone was the perfect spot to crack open a nut. The audio went from crisp to a full-on demolition site crunch for a solid 90 seconds. I tried to stay professional, but I just froze and stared at it, whispering 'please leave' into my now-useless lapel mic. The chat went wild with people asking if I was eating chips on mic. I finally had to gently shoo it away with a broom, which of course looked ridiculous on camera. The whole segment is unusable, but the clip of me pleading with a rodent is weirdly my most saved Instagram story ever. Has anyone else had wildlife completely wreck a shoot you were sure was in the bag?

Last year I lost a whole morning's shoot to a raccoon family in the attic above my set. The constant scratching and thumping ruined every take, and we had to pack up and leave. That kind of interruption isn't content gold, it's just wasted time and money. It's stressful when you have a plan and a deadline, and something you can't control wrecks it. Calling it a favor feels like ignoring how frustrating and unprofessional it really is in the moment.

Oh man, that's hilarious. Honestly, those unplanned moments are pure gold for content. You can't buy that kind of authentic reaction. The squirrel did you a favor.
