My first editor told me to never post a video under 10 minutes, and I followed that rule for 3 years before realizing it was killing my channel.

That rule is so outdated lol. Just make the video as long as it needs to be.

Honestly used to follow that ten minute rule like it was gospel... felt like I had to stretch everything out. But Gavin's point about filler killing watch time is so true. Now it just feels freeing to end a video when the point is made.

Grace is right about making it the right length. I wonder if that old rule made people add filler just to hit ten minutes, which hurts watch time more than a short video ever could.
