My first 100 videos were shot on a phone balanced on a stack of cookbooks, but after my 'sourdough disaster' clip went viral, I finally invested in a $40 tripod from Amazon.
I used to think fancy gear was a waste, but filming my hands covered in flour while the camera slowly tipped over into a bowl of starter was the final straw that made me realize even a basic setup saves HOURS of editing frustration, so what's the one small upgrade that made your process WAY easier?

Wait, you never had to re-record for truck noise? That's wild. My old setup picked up every single rig rumbling past my old apartment. I'd finish a take and there'd be this low growl through the whole thing. A cheap mic was the first thing I bought, just to stop that. I can't imagine just living with it.

Feel your pain. Upgraded to a cheap lav mic. Stopped having to re-record every time a truck drove by.

But is the truck noise really that big of a deal, @felixt31? My old camera mic picked up everything and it never seemed worth the fuss.
