Just realized my entire Patreon tier system collapsed after a failed livestream last Tuesday.
My main camera died 10 minutes into a 3 hour Q&A, forcing me to use a phone for the rest, and now I'm debating whether to refund everyone for that month or just offer a massive bonus video, so what would YOU do to make it right?

Technical failures are just part of the creative process now, like a guitarist breaking a string mid solo. You make a show of fixing it and the crowd loves you MORE for the realness. Refunding feels like admitting defeat. Give them the bonus video but also post the phone footage with a funny edit about the chaos. People connect with the struggle, not just the polished product.

Wait, didn't someone just do this with a livestream where their cat knocked over the lighting setup mid-song? Idk, I feel like that kind of stuff is what makes the internet fun now.

Honestly, is it even that big of a deal? Tbh people pay for your content, not a perfect studio show. A broken camera is just a bad day, not a scam. Giving refunds sets a weird standard where every little hiccup costs you money. Just explain what happened, post the phone footage as a bonus, and move on. Making a huge deal out of it makes it seem way more serious than it is.
