Had a chat with a viewer that made me drop the 'always be positive' act

This guy DMed me after my last video, where I faked being super pumped about a collab that fell through. He said, 'You seemed off, like you were forcing it. It's okay to be bummed.' I've been doing the 'happy creator' thing for 3 years, thinking negativity kills the algorithm. But his message hit different because he's been watching since my first 50 subs. It made me realize my real fans can spot the fake energy a mile away. Now I'm thinking of just being real when stuff sucks. Anyone else feel pressured to act happy online even when you're not?

Honestly, that "be real" advice sounds great in theory, but the algorithm doesn't care about your feelings. People scroll for an escape, not to catch your bad mood. That viewer might get it, but a new person just sees a downer video and clicks off. Faking it is part of the job, like any customer service gig. You can be bumded in a private tweet or something, but the main channel feed needs to stay reliable.

What if being real is the only way to keep the fans you actually care about?

What's the worst thing that could happen if you let yourself be bummed on camera for once?
