Dropped $150 on a ring light that buzzed like a bee hive

I thought I was being smart buying a cheaper ring light for my Twitch streams. First week it worked fine, but then the hum started getting louder and you could hear it in my voice. By week three it was so bad I had to turn it off and use my desk lamp instead. Has anyone else had luck with quiet LED panels or am I just cursed with bad audio gear?

That "bee hive" noise is just cheap electronics, happens ALL the time with budget lights. I had a similar buzz that drove me crazy until I swapped for a used Neewer panel. Check the used market, you can get pro-level quiet gear for less than a new buzzy mess.

Oh man, tell me about it. I spent a whole weekend trying to track down a buzz in my shop, thought it was a loose wire in the wall. Nope, just my cheap ring light sounding like a swarm of angry hornets. I mean, at that point you might as well just record the humming and sell it as ambient noise for people who like torture. Glad you found a fix, but let's be real - half the fun is blaming the ghosts in the walls before you realize it's your own gear.
