Chat with a 19 year old about Photoshop layers made me feel prehistoric

I was showing a kid at the coffee shop how to mask out a background and he asked why I didn't just use the AI tool that does it in one click. It hit me that I learned this stuff by trial and error over 10 years, and now there's a button for everything. Has anyone else had a moment where you realized the basics you struggled with are basically invisible to new creators now?

Ha! Girl I felt this in my BONES. Learned masking the hard way with a trackpad and a prayer, now these kids just hit a button and move on with their lives while I'm still side-eyeing my layer panel.

Left my tablet pen in another room for like 5 minutes and came back to find my whole selection tool had a mind of its own. Takes me half an hour to remember how I even got the effect in the first place. Meanwhile my nephew just drags and drops like its nothing.
