Bought a $300 'viral sound pack' and used exactly one track
I make short videos and saw an ad for a pack of trending audio clips. The sales page said it would save me hours of digging. I bought it six months ago and have only used a single 10-second clip from the whole thing. The rest were either too niche or already sounded dated by the time I got them. Has anyone found a better way to source fresh audio without wasting cash?

That feeling of buying a prepackaged trend is the modern version of buying a gym membership you never use. We keep trying to buy our way out of the work, whether it's finding a sound clip or learning a new skill. The real product they're selling is the hope of skipping the boring part, and it almost never works. You end up with a hard drive full of stuff you feel bad about not using.

Too niche or already dated" is the whole problem with buying trends.

Ever feel like you're always late to the party? I finally buy into something and it's already over. Maybe it's just me but I can't win.
