My writing group in Austin fell apart over a single prompt last year
We were meeting at the library downtown, and the leader gave us 'write a story about a door that shouldn't be opened'. I wrote a horror piece, but this one guy just kept arguing that the prompt was 'limiting his voice'. He went on for twenty minutes, and the whole vibe died. Now I only use prompts by myself at home. Does anyone else find group settings kill the fun sometimes?

That "limiting his voice" argument sounds familiar. My friend's pottery class ended when one person insisted the assigned bowl shape was oppressive.

Yeah the "oppressive bowl shape" thing is too real. I mean, sometimes a class is just a class, you know?

My last watercolor was a protest piece.
