Hit my first 500 words without stopping today
Been trying to write a short horror story for two weeks. Usually get stuck after 100 words. Today I just wrote straight through without editing. It's garbage but it's 500 garbage words I can actually fix now.

Keep pushing through it man, that first big chunk of words is such a relief once you hit it. I definitely feel the struggle of getting stuck early on, @kim693 is right that the first step is the worst part. Now you've got something to actually work with, even if it feels like garbage right now. Editing bad words is way easier than staring at a blank page, so you're in a good spot. How long did it take you to get through those 500 words?

That reminds me of when I tried to learn guitar a few years back. I kept staring at the strings thinking I had to make something perfect right away. Then my buddy just told me to strum any chord, even if it sounded terrible, and that was way easier than sitting there frozen. Same thing with writing, you gotta just get the notes down even if they're all wrong. My first 500 words took me like two whole evenings of fighting myself, but once they were there I felt like I could breathe.
