A stranger's prompt about a missing dog changed how I write

Back in 2019, I was at a coffee shop in Portland killing time before work. There was this older guy at the next table, probably 60s, scribbling in a notebook. He saw me staring at my blank screen and asked what I write. I said prompts mostly, but I was stuck. He pushed his notebook over and pointed at one line: “Write a missing dog poster from the dog's point of view.” That was it. I cracked up because it sounded so silly, but I tried it that night and ended up with three pages about a beagle who left on purpose. I never got his name, and I never saw him again. I still keep that prompt in a folder on my phone for bad days. Has anyone else gotten a random idea from a stranger that just clicked, or am I weird for holding onto it this long?
