Update: That $300 crane camera setup I bought is a total waste.
Got it for a tight lift in downtown Seattle last month. Mounted it on the jib, screen in the cab. Thing just glitches out when the sun hits it right. Lost the view halfway through a pick. My spotter had to yell directions the whole time. Anyone know a camera that actually works in real sun?

Nah, you just got a bad unit or something. My cheapo setup works fine even in full sun, never had a glitch. Maybe check your cables.

My old unit did that until I swapped the power supply for a 12V 5A brick.

Oh man, that sounds like a total nightmare. So you paid three hundred bucks for a fancy sun sensor instead of a camera. Thanks for the warning. Miles72 must have gotten the one good unit they ever made before the factory gave up. Honestly, yelling directions over a glitchy screen is how they did it in the 80s, maybe you just got a vintage model.
