Showerthought: The cab stress is real and nobody prepares you for it.
Man, I've been running cranes for years, but lately the mental load is brutal. I can't sleep after work because my mind won't stop racing about the day's lifts. It's making me second guess myself up there, and that's a scary place to be. Had a sketchy moment last Friday where I almost missed a hand signal, all because I was tired. We need to start taking this stuff seriously before someone gets hurt.

Try a five minute cool-down ritual before you drive home.

Honestly I see this everywhere now, not just with jobs like that. People are so fried from just being "on" all day, even in offices. Tbh my neighbor started just sitting in her car for ten minutes after grocery shopping, says it keeps her from road rage on the drive back.

Yeah I always thought crane work was just a tough job, but that mental fatigue is a whole other level of exhausting.
