Pro tip: I swapped my old rigging gloves for a pair of those cut resistant ones after a close call with a frayed sling last Tuesday.
I mean, the difference in grip and how much less my hands ache after a 10 hour day is crazy, and I don't feel like I'm about to lose a finger anymore, has anyone else made the switch?

Wait, aren't cut resistant gloves usually pretty slick? I found the grip on mine was terrible until I got the kind with the rubbery dots on the palms. Maybe you just got a really good pair.

Actually, the slickness can be a good thing for some tasks, like handling wet fish or greasy engine parts where you need things to slide. My old pair had a smooth finish and I never dropped a thing. Maybe @jordanhill just had a pair that was too stiff or the wrong material for what they were doing. It really depends on the job.

So @jordanhill is out here dropping everything with his fancy cut-proof gloves, huh? Sounds like you needed those grippy dots just to hold onto a basic screwdriver. Maybe some of us just have better hand skills and don't need the extra help.
